It's in the picture at the rear of the property.

That would appear to be the case. You have to admire the inginuity and bizaar intent to retain that particular fitting!

I had one of these in my last house in Liverpool and the only access was to climb into my loft and drop a small ladder into it to gain access.
I contacted the council as they held the lease on the land and their solicitor sent me a letter to confirm I owned it because the adjoining house next door didn't have any access to it. Eventually a new owner moved in next door and she asked how she could gain access to it. When I explained it belonged to me she was adamant she should also have access to a portion of it. I eventually received a solicitors letter threatening legal action if I did not allow her access to it.
They quickly backed down when I sent them a copy of my letter. The area in question was 5' wide by 12' long and the joist level was in line with my landing floor joists.

In Eltham there was a narrow road under something similar except the 1 of the 2 rooms was accessible from one of the houses, the house had been purchased as Freehold and included half of the area over the road on the documentation, the owners had lived there for several years and some council workers turned up to gain access to the bridge, believeing the whole of it was their property with rights of access through the loft area, Just like Conny.

I knew one of the neighbours and it turned into a legal battle but I don't know what the outcome was as she moved from there soon after.
