Hi all.
My lawn mower blade needs sharpening and rather than do it myself I'm going to take it to someone and get a proper job done.
A bit of research suggests that the blade will need balancing as well as sharpening. This is where equally amounts are taken off each side. Otherwise it can apparently damage the machine.
Is there anyone down south that can suggest a company that does this?Or failing that I could take it off and package it up and send it to someone to sharpen and then send back to me.
The manufacturer I took it too last year has an extremely long wait time (about six weeks) so this will be my last option..
Thanks a bunch for reading

You may find that a new, pattern, blade is as cheap as a sharpen depending on the machine.
If the blade isn’t too bad then a dress up with an angle grinder will be fine, if you have one.
Just have a look at GHS Ltd before you decide.

Bang a nail in the fence/vice and hang the blade on it to check its balanced. Then sharpen with an angle grinder.

If the blade is already sharp I usually adjust the balance by grinding the end of the heavy side where the amount removed has the most impact

get yourself a little bench grinder, they can be had for £20 and will come in handy for sharpening blades, drills etc
