Hi all back again my Ford Focus 2002 has still got a slight misfire (1800 revs) despite changing coil, leads and air filter. This has been going on for 2years now, now recently the engine warning light has just started coming on and going off, some time the engine will not start just dead I have to hold the key on and after 10 or so seconds it starts up, also when it's very cold all the dials on the dash start flickering. Any ideas, is it worth spending the money on it at a garage its in great condition we've owned it from new and always passes the mot. Thanks for any replies.

Interesting reading, but get the fault code read first......not all dash faults generate one, but at least its a start!

I done my mates 2007 Focus by resoldering 32pin socket on the instrument cluster been perfect for 6 months now.
We also had a successful dash solder job done on a 2006 Focus, here's the thread I created at the time if you want a read...

When you say engine is dead do you mean engine not turning over? if so check all earth wires are clean and tight(battery main earth as well) as a bad earth will put light on ,cause a misfire and engine will not crank ,worth a look at.
