Hi all,

Brand new to the forums, I have a new Premier Elite 64-W and want to add a PIR to the hall as it appears to have been an oversight during installation (new build).

I have the master code, but dont have the engineers code. I've read some posts regarding opening the control panel and holding down the default button for 5 seconds, which should reset the engineer code to 1234 and master to 5678 but will it lose all of the existing PIR's, door contacts, zones and areas etc?

Many thanks

Russ

The keypad doesn't hold any codes.
Need engineers code to learn devices on.
Usually builders don't change code from default.

Texecom have a you tube channel that covers this.

Right so the codes are all held in the control panel, check.

Unfortunately in this case it appears the engineer code has been reset.

I understand from the video's I've watched that I need the engineer code to add/learn new devices.

you have nothing to lose by trying, if its locked you wont change the codes, if isn't locked and you follow the procedure on texecom you tube channel you should be fine

New build ?
Is system under warranty?
Defaulting could void any warranty from installer.
Ask for price to install additional detector.

agreed jo that's the first place to start, but getting it down can be another issue

Yes you can just reset engineer code as long as control panel is NOT engineer locked.
