Have just bought a book on ebay and was wondering if any possible contamination from the present “epidemic” can be avoided by placing the book in the freezer for a couple of days prior to handling it?

If you are talking about the coronavirus it only lives for a few hours on surfaces. The time that spent in the post you have no chance of catching it.

Just trying to work out if there are any subtleties in there somewhere.CG !! Thanks anyway.

Sounds daft but I have an embargo on Chinese takeaways at the moment. Not so daft when you consider that even in this part of the country, I cant think of a single takeaway in my area that hasn't been busted in the last ten years for having workers who have slipped into the country under the radar.

Doesn't sound daft to me.....call it paranoia on my part but after a foreign flight I spray the luggage with Dettol spray, and if I'm cruising the Dettol comes along too!
John :)

Fillyboy......... Same!!! I'm sticking to Indians (until the virus hits there)

I was in Morrisons yesterday early on, I could hear someone sneezing loudly behind me, I looked round and saw a Chinese woman sneezing without any attempt at covering her mouth, I took cover in the valentine card aisle
