We live in an old house and the front door is badly fitted and it and the frame are going rotten and need replacement. I don't really like composite doors and I feel they really don't match the age of the house. However, my wife insists on one. What really puts me off is the requirement for a uPVC door frame. So the question is can a new composite door be fitted into a new wooden door frame ?

Thank you.

I know for a fact IG Doors supplied steel faced and GRP composite doors with timber frames, you normally see steel faced doors on new build sites, local authority housing etc, its worth looking at their site and contacting them to see if they still do timber framed doorsets or have moved on to PVC, IG is the only one I know of that used timber frames

We have an aluminium door with aluminium frame. You get that in lots of designs and colours and it will never need any wood care....

As per crank39's advice, our IG Doors steel faced composite door is factory fitted into a wooden frame.

Sounds good. Where can I get a quote for a new door & wooden frame fitted ?

I would pop onto their website or ring them and ask if they have a list of approved installers specifically any in your area and go from there, remember IG are manufacturers NOT installers
