Hi guys,
I’ve recently had a chimney breast plasterboarded however, I hate it. How can I remove the dot and dab plasterboard to expose the old brickwork.
The chimney bricks are in fairly poor condition apparently, hence I was advised to plasterboard over it. But in all honesty, this house is 100 yrs old and I like it being unusually quirky.
Thanks

its best to post a pic or pics of the chimney breast it saves a lot of questions, esp if an appliance has been fitted.

roughly speaking, its easy enough to just hammer a few holes in the p/board and then pull the board off - do you want to turn the corners and remove p/board from the c/breast cheeks?
wherever you stop hacking off, such as at the ceiling line then cut the connection with a knife before doing any other work.

Awesome, thank you so much for your reply. I was just worried in case I’d ruin the brickwork. So, it’s a pretty simple job then as long as I take my time and cut the edges carefully x

thank you, and a valentine's day X to you. in fact, if you dont tell anyone you may have two xx for this happy day.
