I fancy putting down some hard-wearing floor covering over floorboard in my hallway.
Sisal/seagrass appeals, but is so expensive.
I see a way to buy "remnants" here - https://designer-carpet.co.uk/search/remnant/sisal?length=5.00&width=1.00

What is the wisdom of buying remnant stock of any carpet, and particularly sisal?

How well does this stuff join together? Not as if there's much pile to blend. May be messy?

Sisal is the least practical floorcovering you can buy, it's also not particularly hard wearing.

It requires specialist installation, on something like Duralay System10 underlay or Duralay Durafit with something like F-Ball F3 Adhesive. Its recommended to use griper around the edge so you can still tuck the edge to minimise fraying at the edge, its not recommended to seam any areas, if you have to, ensure that a seam is away from any traffic areas and preferably in an inconspicuous place as they are usually very visible and will fray.

Many floor layers won't fit the stuff, you'll need a pro that knows what they are doing, it's not really a DIY fit product.
