Up until last night, I have been successfully using the Ring security camera software on my Windows 10 laptop. Suddenly, however, the software will not run.
I initially asked Ring customer support what to do, and was advised to uninstall the software from my laptop, reboot, and then re-install the software.
This I did today but I now find that the software will not download and install.
Ring says that, as the app works on my smartphone, this must be a Microsoft fault. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to contact Microsoft direct other than asking for advice on their user web site. I have had no responses there.
If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem might be, I'd be very grateful for any advice.

Try a different computer if you can and that would suggest a fault on your computer.

If I doesn't even download them you might want to clear your browser cache, downloaded programs etc. If that fails, then try creating a new Win10 user profile, and install to that profile, helps narrow it down.

You hit the nail on the head. I cleared the cache in Chrome and, surprise, surprise, the Ring software suddenly decided it would download with no problem.
I'm just surprised that your solution didn't occur to the Ring experts when I contacted them. Then again, of course, it didn't occur to me either! Something I really need to remember in case of any future similar problems.
Thanks very much for your help. Very good of you.

Actually, if you look at my previous post, your solution would probably have worked as well.
Thank you for your help.

No such thing as experts , just those that know a little more than you .

My solution. BIN... Windows 10. I have had nothing but constant issues with it, the latest being since the last update, it no longer sees my DVD burner and one of my USB hard drives. Yes, it works fine on windows 7 and my Ubuntu, so it's a 100% windows 10 issue.

Linux built the house. Microsoft provided the broken windows.
