That's a good idea. Tell me, who has been in charge of setting UK Minimum Wage for the last ten years?

Who has been in charge of Employment Regulations controlling Zero Hours Contracts?

What do you suggest John?

Should we lower the minimum wage to align ourselves more closely with the EU?

employment regulations? maternity leave in the UK is 52 weeks, should we align more with the EU and reduce it to 14weeks?

Here's an interesting read for you if you can understand it, trade unionists views on the EU, wages and austerity.

Man, have you been conned big time.
Don't worry though, me, motty, transam, festive and the gang have saved you. It's all going to be OK.

Do you think wages are too low?

Why don't you know who sets minimum wage in the UK?

Why don't you know who sets Employment Regulations?

If you were born and brought up in this country, speak the language, know the culture, have the contacts and were taught the trade, why is it that employers don't value you more than a foreign migrant without any of those advantages?

Stop swerving John, wake up to the facts and own it. We are where we are after over four decades in the EU, it's time for change.

it's time for change.

And you have formed the opinion that after ten years of conservative government, stagnant wages, austerity and crumbling public services, the solution is.... more conservative government.

Happy dreams.

with respect theres is not a huge majority who agree with the lying mesogynist they just choose his lies over an honest but very misunderstood politician
i rejoined labour to vote for corbin as a real honest person and paid for my son to join at the same time then about 25 year old
but said he would never ever get into power as he didnt play the politicians game off saying and promising what people want to hear rather than be honest

and yes off course they did choose the very intelligent manipulative not in the least buffoon like self serving one but as a choice from frustration rather than a well balanced well informed position

Such as free high speed internet for all and free bus travel for the under 25's? :ROFLMAO:

the UK has mandatory education to 18, so unemployment figures dont compare to EU figures
Who was it that raised the unemployment benefit age from 16 to 18 which reduced the unemployment figures overnight?

John, the UK minimum wage is one of the highest in Europe. Fact.

Tradesmans wages have been driven down by an influx of cheap Eastern European labour. Fact.

These are two quite separate things, what part of that do you find difficult to understand?

You need to look at the overall picture for balance. Immigration has been a critical element to helping quite a few sectors succeed.

I for one don't blame them
Over the last ten years, wages have not grown in real terms.

The taxpayer subsidises bad employers by topping up the income of some people when they cannot earn even enough to live in poverty.

I see you choose to blame workers, for low wages.

I'm sure you've seen what Winston Churchill had to say about bad employers when they have the freedom to pay low wages, and worse employers when they have the freedom to pay even less.

You are blaming the wrong people.

John we all know bad employers have exploited toothless EU rules that that are there to protect us all.
What do you expect from these bad employers who have a pick of labour from nearly a whole continent and beyond. Do you expect them to be moral if they don't have to be. They are not like you or me so I don't get why you support them.

It never has been the fault of good decent hard working foreigners. But the fault falls at the feet do gooders who let the greedy feast on the blood and sweat of the poor.
