I used SKF when I replaced the ones on my touran.

Appears there are two for your reg which is annoying! I think eurocarparts can search by VIN if you ring/go into store? Or you could try TPS in the hope they will deal to the public?

ill vist eurocarparts..cudnt get thrpugh on phone...does the inner diameter make a lot of difference ?..i mean the website says it will fit my car..?

Eurocarparts are hopeless.

Try and find a local motorfactors at atleast be able to take yours off and go down with the part in your hand.

Was gonna source part myself much cheaper then garage price , then drop off car at garage..

If it’s wrong, be prepared to pay though the nose as they cannot afford to house your vehicle while you come down, get the part and change it. You’ll be effectively holding up the flow through the workshop and that has a cost involved. Garages don’t like tight-wads that supply their own parts and if you can get them to take the job on, you’ll have no guarantee if it goes wrong. They’ll say the part was faulty, the part manufacturer will say it’s the fitting. You’ll be stuck in the middle with no car. Just let them do the whole job and then it’s their problem.

I'm afraid to say that, that isn't the case.
If a garage, (this applies to other trades too) agrees to fit a part(s) that a customer has supplied, they are responsible for fitting it.
i.e. you can't be held responsible for something that someone else has done.
Even if you sign some kind of agreement beforehand, the person doing the fitting will be the person held responsible when things go wrong.
If you don't want the responsibility, don't fit parts supplied by someone else.

Sorry, but you are talking out of your arse. So, some tightwad buys the cheapest quality part they can find and the garage that is stupid enough to fit it is responsible for the quality of that part if it fails? Grow up man! In that case, the contract for the part is between the customer and the person he bought it from. He would then have to pay the garage to do the job again at his expense.

The person who fits the part is responsible for fitting the part.
I knew that when I posted that, it was going to be controversial.
I have that on good authority from a lawyer who specialises in contract law. Albeit, she isn't British, she is dual qualified to practice in Scottish law and the law of her own country.
Think about it, how can I be responsible for something that somebody else did?
Look it up if you don't believe it.

The person who fits the part is responsible for fitting the part.
Correct. However, the person that fits the part is not responsible for the quality of the part. If it’s a fitting problem, they will be responsible, if it’s a product problem they will not be responsible because they didn’t supply it. Perhaps your lawyer friend should look that up. Think about it - it’s just common sense and nothing to do with contract law.
