Sounds a stupid question but how do I know when a newly plastered wall is dry please? Is it when the wall is a light pinkish colour?
Also I know I need to paint on 2 coats of mist is it best to use a roller or brush?
Also can I use any old emulsion like B&Q own brand or do I have to use Dulux emulsion?
Really sorry about all the questions but never painted new plaster before and I have gone to the expense of having it replastered so really dont want to make a hash of it.
Many thanks

Be certain to dilute your emulsion to the correct ratio for the mist coat. If you don't, it can peel off and you will NOT like it.

Roller will give a better finish and coverage for this mist coat.

The ratio will be printed on the tin. Dulux Trade is normally 9 to 1, ie add 10% water by volume.

BTW you only need one mist coat. If you need to filler and sand after the mist coat, then spot prime with the mist coat mix.

I have never used the B&Q own brand paint. I stick with trade quality paints, although they cost more they are normally better at covering and therefore reduce labour costs.

Thank you Oops - will be using Dulux - prefer to spend a bit more and have a good job.
