Sorry to trouble you all.
Replaced the copper valve under the motorised head yesterday - but the Glow-Worm hxi 38 boiler now gives an F26 code after a couple of hours. Bled all the rads and no air in them. the code book mentions return temperature thermistor- but it seems very coincidental that the fault code has only started happening after replacing the valve?
Any ideas please? Have a great Sunday. Spike

what valve? Have you opened everything?

Two way port valve that is underneath a motorised head. The valve stuck open a bit and constantly called for hot water, so it was swapped out. (Copper valve? I hope this describes it properly !!
Thanks

As it was at the top of the system, there was very little water- so the plumber did not drain the system down.

I can do, but I would have liked to hear experience from someone on here! I expect my plumber will not no the cause of the issue.... and will guess at trapped air, or just keep charging me to replace thermistors, and other bits. I’m not in very good health, and hoped someone on here might give me a solution!

If it’s the not the return thermistor, then I expect there to be something (like a valve) to be closed for that error to be popping up, especially after an hour or so.

I get both. I have a new motorised valve that I could fit if needed.... but the old one still seemed ok.

I’d be leaning more towards calling your plumber back first. Have you reset the boiler and has it worked since?

I rebooted the boiler.... it seems to run fine for a couple of hours, and then gives the f26 code
