A little while ago I had to replace the plumb or bomb washer In our Armitage Shanks syphonic toilet.

The close couple washer was shot as well, but a standard donut just didn’t fit properly and with guests arriving I bodged it in the short term. I want to fix it properly now, but the washer seems stepped which I’ve not seen before or can find.

Is this just so old it’s sagged or was it really this shape to start with?
And where do I get one?

Yes the washer is very old and knackered.
Thanks, but I already have a Toolstation donut. It’s what I originally bought and didn’t really fit properly.

That's become misshapen from the years of being squashed into that position, try this one for size. https://www.toiletspares.co.uk/standard-doughnut-washer.html or if you want a genuine part, then Lunns, https://shop.lunns.net/, (but they're not cheap!)

You need to replace the bottom sealing washer as well looking at the condition of it. The small washer on the tube makes the seal where that air tube goes into the second trap, if it doesn't seal, the syphonic action wont work.

Thanks Hugh
I wondered if it was shaped by design or just squashed.

I’ll have a look at the ones you linked

Bottom sealing washer has already been replaced. This was the photo when I took it out and had to bodge the donut to get a working toilet before guests arrive. Now need to take apart again and fix the donut.
