EU Budget

I doubt there is a country on Earth with which we trade, which doesn't have practices with which we disagree.
Singling out chlorination of chicken is no better than Red Top reporting, in that respect. IMHO.

Chlorinated chicken is just a tabloid headline.

But it has a significant meaning. Animal welfare standards are much lower in the US. We should not be entering into a trade deal where that is the case.

I thought brexit was all about taking back control. If that is the case, the UK should be telling the US if they want to trade with us, they will have to raise their standards.

Strange for a pet lover to be so cruel when it comes to the food you eat.
What’s pets got to do with it - we don’t eat them do we? Everyone would be veggie if they knew how their food was dispatched.

Nobody will be forced to eat chlorinated chicken. They’ll always be a choice
Really? You think that you will be able to choose between a chlorinated chicken tikka masala and regular chicken tikka masala?

Lol.

Yeah. We rarely eat ready meals in our house so we know what we are putting in our mouths (most of the time)!

Hands up all those on here who know exactly how the animals they eat have been bred, reared and slaughtered.

Hands up on here if you criticise Chinas treatment of animals but are clueless about the treatment of animals in the UK.

I was making a point mottie in response to you saying we have a choice when or when not to eat CK. We may be able to control whether we buy it but not always when we eat it.

I don't and I have seen slaughterhouses and how they operate. Like anything else, they are driven by profit. It's pointless getting all precious about farmed animals and putting them in the same bracket of care as pets.

The Uk had to export live animals to the EU for slaughter !!

some of which ended up being exported to fruit cake countries for mumbo jumbo ritual slaughter
