Best methods to alarm garden?

Hi guys.
Currently using the ERA homeguard alarm which works pretty well. However id like to protect my garden from intruders as well as my home.
My original idea was to use those cheap chinese duel beam ir laser sensors with the relay output replacing the reed switch on the magnetic door contacts from the ERA alarm, sort of a hack so i can use the laser sensors with my current alarm system.
I have used these dual beam things at my previous house and they worked great, however at this house there is no way i can avoid placing them in direct sunlight and they will have to be placed on walls with the beam running parallel (instructions say to have it mounted 1m away from a parallel wall), it doesnt look like ill be able to use them.

I want to protect 3 areas...
1: garden wall so the alarm trips of someone climbs over.
2: across the bottom of the garden behind the garage.
3: across my patio incase somebody approaches my the rear of my house.

Anybody have any ideas as to what else to use rather than the ir lasers? Or perhaps a way to still use the ir lasers even in sunlight and so close to a wall?

PIR is out because the dog has free roam when im not at home and the garden wall is low so would pick up the neighbours.

A tricky one i know.

thorny bushes./ roses, so when the come over you here the screams.

You can get beams, pirs the look in certain directions and the mounting of these are the important thing to get right.

Without seeing the areas its difficult to say.

The next question comes down to budget and ERA homeguard isnt exactly considered high grade

Look at Pyronix enforcer range. Control panel can use external sensors and could be set up for different areas to protect perimeter and internal separately.
Do not buy cheap Chinese rubbish.
Buy cheap buy twice !!!!!!!

Ive had a thought, its the receiver that cant cant be in direct sunlight the transmitter should be ok, i may be able to work it so that at least the transmitter is in the shade.

On a side note, budget doesnt doesnt really concern me for the right system (within reason, dont want to be sending thousands lol), i was going to get a risco but id want to install it myseld and the suppliers seemed to only offer it with installation.
What would be the difference between a decent alarm system and the ERA home guard say?
It has never failed me, never had any false alarms, triggers if you try to jam it, has a very good range (have a wireless pir at the far end of the garage), sensors are cheap enough to chop and change and alter my system as i see fit, it notifies my phone via the app when triggered, never had a problem.

Its not really the alarm system its the sensors, chopping out the reed sensor and replacing it with the relay contacts isnt a problem and keeps the sensors wireless. I think its a task of finding the sensors that meet my needs.

A well trained German Shepherd is what you need.

Edit: Sparky beat me to it.

All those sensors won't stop an intruder if they really wanted to break into your property.

A well trained Shepherd however would have them regretting the decision sharpish.

they have been known to dope meat.

you can have sensors that pick up in the garden, but the best things to have is thorny bushes, looks better than barbed wire and will leave dna behind as it tears the skin.

As for installing in the shed, if you have mains power in the shed don't see why it couldn't be installed in there, depends on whether its a decent shed or just a a cheap flimsy thing I guess

Attaching leads to the sensor PCB might alter the power / sensitivity of the wireless antenna.

Risco do have the Beyond DT Wireless Outdoor Detector with Camera, which means it trips and you get a picture, but you could do the same with CCTV and wire in an external detector and get it to send an image from the CCTV.

Its not usually recommended to have garden sensors tripping the bell box.

A video door bell could do the same and you could then talk, once you have verified its a person and tell them to go away.

Lots of options but the best option depends on your layout specifically.
