My CH system is fitted with a bypass valve (see photo) as my Worcester Greenstar Ri boiler has a 3 minute over-run mode when heating demand stops. But I can't seem to alter the setting on the valve. If I rotate the black knurled collar it doesn't seem to change anything (the scale rotates with it). What am I missing? The valve is installed the other way up compared to this photo.

Putting aside whether or not I need to adjust the valve, since it is adjustable I want to know how to adjust it.

Most ABVs need to be turned many rotations to make any impression. If you have only turned the knurled collar a couple of rotations you may not see any noticeable difference in the position of the red marker.

Count the number of turns so you can reset the valve to its original position.

Please explain why you need to adjust the ABV. It could be that the 'problem', which you presumably have, is not caused by the ABV.
