Hi everyone, hoping someone here can advise me on my problem that just happened a few minutes ago.

Had the oven on, and it suddenly died on me. No power going to it at all. I've done a small search on Google, but I can't get any specific info for my model of oven.

Does anyone have this same oven, and is there a likely culprit for it suddenly dying - I am comfortable performing basic fixes, but only alongside instructions of some kind, so I'm reluctant to start randomly unscrewing bits, etc..

Thanks in advance

Check the circuit is still energised at your consumer unit

HI thanks for such a fast reply. Yes, the light is still on at the power switch.

One thing: For the last few days, very occasionally when I turn on the left oven, there would be a high pitched ringing sound come out which would stop if I turned the oven off and then wouldn't happen again when I immediately turned it back on

Not sure if that gives any kind of hint

No, no power to the clock, either. Nothing on the oven will respond. Have tested the grill element and the two glass hobs next tot he gas hobs. Gas still functions, obviously, but no ignition

I reckon there's an internal fuse blown. You might also find an element that is damageand will need disconnecting, fuse replacing then start it up again with one less functional element. OBVIOUSLY isolate it first.

Hmm, this is strange, there does appear to be power going to the two hobs - not enough to turn them on, but if I turn the dial over so slightly, the light will come on, but if I turn it any further, it'll then go off again.

Thanks for the advice, Nozzle, is this a layman's fix, or should I call someone out?

Are you fault finding with a multimeter? It's possible you are losing a neutral somewhere.

If you are uncertain about dismantling the oven and then dealing with domestic electricity safely, then you should call someone in.
