This is a question for the professional driveway guys.
I've had the driveway dug out and stoned up but he dug a bit too much out so I need to put more on it to get to the finished level. I can either top the crusherun with a) more Crush and then 30mm grit sand or b) just use a thicker layer of grit sand than I intended.
Either way the cost per loose ton is the same, except that it will be easier to manually shift (and level) grit sand than the stone.
Plus if I go with option b) I can get 20 ton of grit sand in one drop as opposed to paying for a smaller amount of crush and sand to be dropped separately. And that could involve min qualtities per load.
Whichever route I go it's going to be thoroughly wacked down and the edges are all in place so nothing can move laterally.
From a structural point of view, is there any difference laying the Tobermore block paving on 30mm, 50mm or 70mm wacked grit sand as long as there's sufficient wacked hardcore underneath it ?
