Filler bits of coving

Do these filler bits of coving make it look worse than without them above my extractor? They seem to be a bit smaller as well than the original

I'd go with EddieM's first suggestion. Blind returns look great but two of them meeting that extractor housing would make it look very busy up there -- better to have it blend in.

I caulked them but they still look a bit rubbish. I think you're right RIP them down and pack them out with no nails

That'd be your best bet. If they're sunken down below the depth of the nearby coving it'll be a pig of a job to get them level with caulk!
 
You need to remove and try again , you did not get enough adhesive behind the coving, it’s same size.Should have been cut to exact size rather than trying to infill later.
 
Ok so padded it out. Is there a trick to patching as it's much better than before but still not great. Bit lumpy on the join.

If I do re cut a new bit the whole length of that one wall i wont disrupt the rest of the coving, will I and if it doesn't go great just glue what's already up back up?
