Flexi Hose to Flexi Hose, Quooker - Washer or O-Ring?

Have a leak on a flexi-to-flexi hose join on the hot outlet from a Quooker hot water boiler - am I right in thinking that there should be a rubber or fibre washer or o-ring between the two fittings? It’s been fitted for about five years, and there was only a bit of indeterminate black stuff/limescale in there - picture below:

Just ensure they're the correct size, some of these aren't 1/2" rather 3/8"

I would also suggest that a rubber sealing washer may be preferable on a boiler water hose as against a fibre washer.
 
Thanks both - it is an odd size, about 9mm outside diameter, the 3/8” ones I’ve just bought are far too big...

it's a bespoke fit then, might be an idea to call quooker's technical helpline, they may be able to supply the correct ones
