Hi all

A question I am sure has been asked many times before...I am looking at installing an enforcer system with 8 PIRs and was debating doing a self install vs someone who has done it before.

What is everyone's opinion on this? In terms of costings, I have found someone who would cost £225 to install with £100 annual charge (including in the first year as part of the £225). They are not NSI or NACOSS certified.

If I was to do this myself, I would absolutely get an electrician to fit the fuse spur and connect it to the main panel, but I would do the rest...so I guess my question is - how "easy" is this to do?

I've previously connected Yale alarm's but they were a breeze...but I am worried about screwing this up...especially as enforcer don't support home users on their help desk!

Thoughts?

Hi Handymanjo,

Sorry, the system itself would cost me in total of £525 including the fuse spur fitted...

whilst if I had someone supply and fit (including the fuse spur) it would cost me £750 inc VAT (hence the £225 to install charge)...although this does include 1 year warranty on the fitting i.e. callouts etc

does that clarify it?

I read it as installation costs.

If you install it yourself and your having the app you need to consider the annual renewal costs for the cloud, first year is free.

As for how easy it is, relatively, some say its easier than some of the other systems to do yourself, but depends on your skill levels you can certainly get help on here.

To be honest I guess that was my key concern - support if something goes wrong!

Different question - does the siren bell come with the led lights as standard? As I was told to purchase a separate set of led lights for the real siren and dummy ... but not sure if that is already standard on the siren within kit3?

I normally use the Haydon one as you can replace the cr123a and it’s the same battery as your other devices

Ah - is that easy to connect?

and is that what normally one would do with the live siren?

Hi

I've decided to do this myself...in prep for the install, does the below look correct in terms of config?

The door at the front is the only one with a door contact facing the road - the other doors are in the back garden so have left PIRs facing then which I assume is okay?

Hi guys - is anyone able to confirm if my config is correct? As I havent done anything yet :) but now that I am in lockdown - i thought I should actually finish the job!

In the rooms where PIR’s 3&7 are, is it only doors? No windows? I prefer a confirmed setup so door contacts as well as PIR’s

I’d personally have PIR2 at the top left corner of drawing rather than where it is now

Thanks for the quick response sparky

so just change that one, and everything else is okay?

random question - i read about factory reset and there are two codes to do this - which one should i be doing? I think i should use the grade 2 code unless I am told otherwise?
