Hi,

I am thinking of getting rid of that sectional garage in a couple of years.

How shall I proceed? I saw an old thread where someone said he would put the concrete panels in a skip. Can I do that, isn't too heavy to go in a skip?

Can someone also tell me if the roof is asbestos just by the look of it on the pictures. My husband thinks it is not but it looks like fibro cement, it is probably from the 70's.

How costly can be the removal of the roof and the panels please?

Thanks.

Letty

I bought a House to Refurb , there was an old Sectional Garage smaller than yours and in worse condition, I put an ad on E Bay to sell it for a penny , buyer to dismantle / remove etc and leave the Site tidy , I had 3 Guys after it , one came and took it down over the Xmas break & carted it away over 3 or 3 loads ...,, free !!
I’d estimate you’d need 2 or 3 skips that may be £600 plus , unsure of the Roof but quite possibly a cement / asbestos type sheet

if putting it on E bay ensure the sale includes the Roof and they remove / take that away 1st

I also do sub contract work for 2 Companies that sell Compton sectional Garages (I’m a Sparkie) the average cost to dismantle & remove one is about £1000

Hope that helps

Hi Phil,

That is an excellent idea.

For the roof, is there a way to be sure if it is asbestos or not, or should I ask a professional? Because i cannot let people fiddle with that if it is.

Ebay is old school now. Advertise it on facebook market place and you will have loads of interest. I dare say you'll even get £100 for it!
