Hello,

I have an old traditional light with a flickering bulb. I think the spring has gone in the electrical connector part of the bayonet fitting.

Finding it difficult to source a spare part.

Can anyone help me?

Photos below.

Thanks in advance,
Matthew

If the spring is ok plenty of contact cleaner might sort it out. The ceramic part from a new socket might fit your old ones. I think there are some about where they still use ceramic.

Lampholders made by LILLEY still use the same insert, that will fit in that shell

Thanks for all your help. I managed to find the part I needed on lamps and lights.

Is this what you ordered it looks ok, if not the contacts only will likely fit yours

Yes, I ordered that part and a lamp holder just in case. Very kind of you to look up the part.

No problem, trouble with the entire casing of a holder is fitting it to an older thread.
Theres 10mm 5/8 inch 12mm 13mm 1/2 inch amongst others.
As said it looks like a Lilley holder and the good thing is you may be able to mix and match the parts to do the job
Let us know how you get on

Yeah, Spot on. That was the bit I was unsure about. Think I went for 1/2 inch but the connecting thread seems to be 1”. I think the other part will work so the lamp holder was just contingency really. It was quite inexpensive. I’ll have a look at Lilley and contact you if I have trouble.
