Is anybody choosing to self isolate -or know a family member that is?

I'm toying with the idea of isolating the wife.

My mother in law is a fit 75 year old, but she has had pneumonia in the past and has a weakened lung capacity.

She is thinking of self isolating.

My big concern is not itself isolating itself, its keeping it up to beyond the peak, which could be 3 months.
Self isolation is always better than the alternative.

Humanity's contempt for the other species we share the earth with needs to stop.

I think the problem is peoples careers -my wife is a piano teacher, she sees loads of snotty sneezing kids every day. That makes her a prime candidate to be a virus carrier.

Im not bothered I work mostly from home now, so am basically self isolating anyway. Dog walking is 2 or 3c times a day, but I dont get clise to anybody, so Im not concerned.

Erm, do you not in turn spend time with your wife?

It seems my nieces fiancee has covid 19 -yesterday he had high temperature and sore throat but no coughing (could be tonsillitis of course)

my niece is a radiographer and so is works in a key department for corona -chest x rays, etc scans etc.

my sister has had contact with them over the weekend -so I don't think she can visit our dad any more.....

yes

sorry I should have explained: Im not bothered about my daily routine having to change much, its my wifes work routine that may have to change.

Listening to a few on bbc2 who said that they wouldn't obey self isolation if it became compulsory. Now as the purpose of this is to prevent them from getting the virus, why waste time on enforcing it, if they want to go out and succumb to the virus, so be it.

Just been speaking to 3 of my young grandchildren in Liverpool. Youngest had a slight cough at school today. Temperature was a bit raised so Dad was called to take him and his sister, (in a different class), home and let GP know they were self isolating for 7 days. Son phoned eldest sons school and he too was packed off home for 7 days. All 3 have been given sufficient work to be done at home during this time. As my daughter in law has teaching experience she will be taking lessons whilst all of them are at home. Luckily, (or unluckily for him), my son is on holiday from work this week.
All the kids told me they feel fine.

the risk is where ignoring the advice leads to increased spreading of the virus.

in China they put many many people in lock down. Only 1 person per household was allowed out for 2 hours or so every 3 days. Each person going out was checked by thermometer.

the UK cant do that, I can see this being worse than in China per capita if we arent careful
