Have you got a photo of what you are trying to replace? There are so many different combinations.

hi the one I am replacing is the 2nd smaller one but I am getting a new sink which recommended the 1st larger one, which I cannot get anywhere at the moment, I would relax a bit if this lockdown wasn't going on but with not much time I need to get the right one, my concern was getting a new sink would it fit if I got the 2nd one, are the fitting universal eg the size of the hole in the sink to screw into, if this makes sense...

you are going about this the wrong way.
do you intend to replace the present sink and its plumbing yourself?
perhaps you would photo pics of the sink above any work top, and a pic of the sink and its plumbing below the worktop.
please remove all items above and below before photo'ing.

am not doing it, new sink and pluming, the new sink I have recommended the 1st pic but b&q have none, so I went to screwfix and he suggested pic 2, me not having a clue about anything like this is wondering if the waste traps underneath are universal how do I find out which is for what I have looked on the sink and it doesn't say, does one fit all? any clue would be good... thank you

I have new kitchen cupboards, worktops, sink etc the man who is fitting it is expecting to come and fit it with all the stuff I need here ready for him to do the work, I cannot expect him to fit sink with no fittings underneath, or that don't fit, so need to know in advance. The sink is a black Cooke and Lewis Christianna if anyone know what sink trap waste fits I would be grateful...(y)

here is the new sink..

Cooke and Lewis suggests B&Q. Just ask them to include a suitable waste and trap for the sink.

they have none, none available online to order and none click and collect .. I shall continue to search online to see if any other stockist, but I thought I could buy another from screwfix… maybe not... thanks for help ...

What you are looking for from B&Q is 'Pack A' which is a sink waste, appliance trap, and a P trap.

The one you are looking at from Screwfix is just the appliance trap and P trap, you will still need the sink waste.

For the sink waste you need to make sure that the diameter of the plug hole matches. [Example]

Do you have any appliances that need to be connected to the waste (washing machine/dishwasher)?
If you have one appliance, then the one from Screwfix will work. This one if you have two.

If you don't have any appliances then just a P trap will work.

To be honest you might be able to reuse your old traps, and just get a new sink waste.

wow, this is so clear, I thought I could do this I had to make sure ! I have a washing machine so just require one trap, and an separate sink waste will be needed... I just wanted to make sure the traps had the same diameters.... thanks so much (y)

Whereabouts in the UK are you? Looking at availability in the Midlands/Home counties area, most stores seem to have the 'Pack A' in stock.

If you cant get a 'Pack A', then you'll need a 'Basket waste' I'd think for that sink, such as https://www.screwfix.com/p/stainless-steel-strainer-waste-1-bowl-90mm/9411k (Check diameter of hole in sink to make sure this one fits.)

All domestic sink wastes should be 40mm outlet, so then add a trap to suit, e.g. https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-sink-washing-machine-trap-white-40mm/12794 and you should be ok. Your installer will then connect the waste pipe up from the trap to the drain. (I wouldn't try reusing the old trap, the seals go brittle over time and it's likely to leak.)

hi Liverpool, I got the one from screwfix and a separate sink waste so hopefully sorted.. thanks for all your help:):):)

Hi did you manage to get this sorted?as i am in the same position b&q out of stock!

Was the screwfix item correct ?as the technical diagram for pack A B&Q the overflow waste is stated as 30mm whereas on screwfix its a 34mm overflow
