so we would all be better off if they went for a walk in a busy park?

i'm not talking about driving 20 or 30 miles away, which I agree would be not in the spirit of the rules. For me a 2.7 mile drive gets us somewhere where we will not see anyone else. Go from home and it's like paddies market.

If there is an issue in risk of traffic accidents that could put unwanted pressure on the health service, then why are we all not being told to drive slower? reduce all speed limts by 50%

Because people manage to have accidents regardless, it's not all about speed

If you don't travel by car you can't have a car accident. If everyone else adheres to that (or where possible), the chances of you being hit by a car vastly reduce also.

how is it a strawman? accidents can cause injury, the higher speed of impact the more likely the seriousness of the injury and the more likely the need to involve the NHS

the question here would be, chance of injury by driving a couple of miles as opposed to the chance catching CV by walking along a busy path. I would rather chose the former.

Most people should be at home so reducing speed limit is a bit numb.Would need even more police to in force...

Driving a few miles to a local beauty spot is not in the spirit either...why would no one else have the same idea.....Why not just do what the Ferkin govt suggests FFSSSSS

We have been doing something very similar. Drive 3 mile up to the forestry and go for a walk there, although there may be half a dozen cars in the car park we will not see anyone when out walking. If we set off from the house we will meet loads of other people out walking, and in places it is a narrow path so no chance of 2 metre space.

For me the walkers in the video need praised as how it should be done.

Argue the toss with the copper whilst he fills out your £960 fine.

Whichever way you cut it,,,the faster you go,,,the more dangerous it is,and injuries are worse.exponential,,,not even linear...Getting back to the point,,,,,Social isolation.....on average,,,,isolated in a week,,,1 person infects 1.25 to the power of seven.....Non isolate,,2.5 to the power of seven. 4.8 compared to over 600.....That is why govts and WHO form rules,,,based on modelling,,,not the back of a fag packet.
