Have you put your clocks forward?

Yes, a UTI can send someone delirious. My dad suffered from it a few times and the first time it happened we thought he'd lost his mind. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. (y)

Many thanks.

Last Jan, we found my Dad naked in the bath, which was empty. He believed he was kidnapped and forced to sit in the bath.
That was a UTI.

They are proper nasty, but normally easily sorted with antibiotics, phew. Hope his kick in soon. Any way you can get him to increase his drinking? Elderly are normally buggers for not drinking enough.

My Dad, who dies last April, had a nervous bladder and could not sleep through without getting up several times in the night. So he decided not to drink after 1630.
It sorted the peeing in the night issue, but he died of kidney failure.

That’s a common thing with oldies. When the FIL was on the run down to retirement from Fords, they broke them in gently - 4 days a week gradually reducing to 1 plus lots of retirement training. One thing I remember was that he was told to remember to drink plenty of water as it’s common for retired people to get lazy, stuck in front of the telly and not drinking as it’s too much effort to get up to pee so they end up with dehydration related illnesses. My wife is always nagging at me to drink more water as I get dehydrated and feel 'funny' or even a bit giddy. She marches in with a glass of water, plonks it down next to me and says "sip"!

I get that, too!
My problem is that I have no thirst mechanism. If I didn't remember to drink, I would not feel thirsty. Something to do with my malfunctioning pituitary, I have been told.
So I set alarms to remind me to drink!

Well I was up early, my Dad set his emergency alarm off so I had them ringing me at 6.30am.

I went in the bathroom to have a wash, my wife meanwhile had changed the clocks. That confused me for a while!

My sister has gone over to deal with Dad, he isnt very good so weve called 111 and gone through all their triage questions, looks like doctor or ambulance coming.
Its not a great time to be going into hospital.......
All The fault of Boris no doubt
