New boiler choice

Dan I believe left, as he was fed up with ill informed, self appointed plumbing experts, who are no more than Google warriors, spamming the forum, with poor advice, pushing their own agenda, and throwing insults at anyone who dared disagree, and I can quite see why. Seems he, sadly, may not be the only one.

Like most of us, he regularly posted under the same name, (in his case, his own), was quite clear on his qualifications and experience, and didn't find the need to keep, (repeatedly!), returning under another pseudonym, after the previous alias was banned form the forum.
He was also an obnoxious, insulting, know-it-all of limited experience - which was mainly myopic being Intergas related. The owners of the forum may have hinted for him to move on as Internet bullying is taken seriously by the authorities these days. Intergas may have told him to get off as he gave the product a bad name. He was one of their dealers/service agents. If I was Intergas I would have strong words with him.

You share some similarities then.

I'm not misinformed, I suspect you're more deluded

Hi Rick, with all the recent lay offs have you signed up for Universal Credit then you can get a boiler for free?

Parts availability is irrelevant while the boilers are in warranty - the manufacturers will have them in stock. Once the warranty is out, it shouldn't be more than a couple of days to get anything for any boiler. The whole "parts won't be available" thing is a myth. I certainly wouldn't have any issues working on a Navien, or any other make. A boiler is a boiler when it comes to fixing them
By warranty.... you mean waiting up to 14 days for them to turn up. I've had a few customers who were offered this ... 1 of which had a young baby. These manufactures do offer this but the service Is awful. All except Baxi, Worcester, Vaillant use sub contractors anyway... most of them are useless to say the least.

That argument is similar to that against Japanese cars when they came to the UK in force in the 1970s. Parts expensive (which they were not), can't get service (cars were not complicated), etc. They said buy a Ford, Vauxhall, BMC, etc, as the local garage can fix it. The fact was Japanese cars rarely went wrong. Also, some Nissans had inside the BMC A series engine made under licence.

Parts are freely available for Naviens. Ring them and they will give a list of the service dealers. Men who know the boilers, not a jack of all trades. The hydroblock is the same as a Baxi.

Plumbase, a national chain, of over 160 stores, with also online order, sell the Navien:

They also sell the Intergas range.

Many other dealers also sell these boilers.

Naviens service dealers, with most of England and South Wales covered.

Look at the map, the dealer near Reading says a company called D Robinson. Is that Dan Robinson, the obnoxious one who was on this forum? Didn't he say the the same as you about Navien? LOL. He looked them up and became a dealer? LOL. Navien may have said get off the forum or no contract, as he would put anyone off any product. It is worth being on these forums then, as people like me inform of new quality products.

Owners are better with service contracts with the makers who know their products, rather than a plumber down the road, who does a lot of drains and the odd boiler install, like one a year - expert on boilers eh?
They use the same parts as Baxi, says it all. Absoloute rubbish.

Only the cast hydroblock, which Baxi do not make. All the rest is theirs. Their Heat X is superb. The biggest combi maker in the world, Korean. A quality product. Get to know what is on the market instead of being a Luddite know-it-all.

My current maintenance contract guys here again this week .... another burner door, and new gas valve. They are hinting at giving me £500 discount off a new boiler fitted by them.
This would be a Vailant ....... not had formal quote, but guess their starting price will be way to high

Vaillant are a mid range on quality. Overpriced for what they are. Noisy. Is this to heat a thermal store?

How is the boiler piped up to the thermal store? A blending valve in the line?

He’s forgot more than you could ever know. That’s why you are in the plumbing forum.

We do laugh at you hard work. We do

I’ve just remembered Dan is basically the face of Intergas. He’s in half their installer videos etc, etc. Far from your nonsense idea

While you just wish you actually had a clue.
