Thanks for all your help. A friend called me today to offer a pipe that he had in his garden.
works a treat, except the horizontal braces at the bottom are interfering with my legs. I’m worried that without this, it will swing too much and may be keel over in the wind. Any suggestions?

Those braces don't appear to provide stability against side-to-side movement? Diagonal bracing would be better.
