Hi
The cooker hood switch has 3 speeds and at times I have issues with the button staying on at all speeds. As soon as I push the button in it never stays on it can take quite a few presses before it will stay on. The light switch works fine so it is just the 3 speed settings that are the issue. A new PCB is over £100 so will not be worth replacing as may as well get a new cooker hood. Is there a way to get the PCB tested as I assume it may be a component that has gone faulty and probably a lot cheaper to repair.

Many thanks

More likely a combination of dirty switch contacts and crap design. First question - is it out of warranty?

Yes definitely out of warranty. Because I have plenty of time on my hands was going to see if I could have a look at it to see if I could find out what it could be that is causing the issue.

Having had a look at it the switches they seemed quite clean but I will give a switch degreaser a go. I think it may well be wear. I did notice that mine has 5 buttons, 3 speeds. one that turns off the fan and an on/off light button. The light on/off switch has a small metal pin whereas the 3 speed button do not. On using this small metal pin on one of the speed buttons I managed to get a speed button to stay on when pressed in and then when I pressed it again it turned off. So, even if the degreaser does not resolve my issue I can swap the metal pin to one of the fan buttons so at least the cooker hood will be useable albeit without the light switch.

Many thanks for your help all.
