Covid-19 discussion

"possible"...."quite a normal life"....

Non-committal, meaningless, and rubbish.

Unless "quite a normal life" means "not doing much really, because even the act of breathing gets you out of breath"...
complete and utter rubbish stop taking what I said out of context just to point score.

my wifes best friend has COPD she leads a quite a normal life.
I have an old friend that has had COPD for a decade or so, he does get out of breath but he lives quite a normal life.

by quite a normal life, I mean working, driving, gardening, shopping etc etc.

I know that COPD is serious, I know that people with advanced conditions have a very limited life, but that does not mean its ok to argue it doesnt matter if covid kills them-which is what Pete50 is trying to say.

Please off topic lets not bitch on this thread... i started this to discuss covid19 and how we may understand it more.

you are the one that is wrong.

shame you aren't man enough to admit it

OK, answer me this.

If any of these people did not have any symptoms, and had no reduction in the quality of their lives, why did they feel the need to seek medical opinion (ultimately leading to a diagnosis of COPD)?

Also,

Chronic - persistent, of ongoing nature. Contrast with "acute"
Obstructive - causing obstruction (of normal function)
Pulmonary - of the lungs
Disease - self-explanatory

It's all there, in the name.

stop taking what I said out of context.

I didnt say they didnt have health issues.
I didnt say they didnt have a reduction in the quality of their lives
I was making the point they have a better life than being dead

I said its possible 'somebody may have quite a normal life', that does not assume 'no reduction in the quality of their lives'.....note it was written in the context of this:

Pete 50 was arguing that somebody with underlying health conditions such as COPD, if they died with Covid, should have death recorded as the underlying health condition not the virus, which is frankly stupid.

you are trying to argue I have in some way trivialised COPD, which is untrue -just because I didnt also include 'I know its a very serious and life shortening condition', don't assume I don't realise that.

yes, I know

just because I didnt mention that in the post dont assume I didnt know

When the virus was spreading around China and South Korea there was much footage on the news of local authorities spraying and washing the streets, we don't seem to be doing any of that here? it did seem pointless to me, but then again they seem to have got in under control.

Also I see this morning there is talk that the public using masks may help reduce the spread.

Masks in public are now compulsory in Austria

My mother has had some delivered to her house this morning
