Honestly how difficult can it be......... Rear extension

I built a scaffold to take the steels up in stages

That's a big span will they let you do it in 2 steels joined back to back

Its with the structural engineer now. They are looking at splitting it into 2 or 3 sections to make it more manageable.

10m if they split the span you'll have to put in columns, push for dual beams bolted together as an option. Mine is way overkill but we were so far underway I couldn't wait the 8 weeks to re propose.

Progress taking shape nicely now. Been a great read following this thread Scaffers. Makes my shed look a bit lame lol.

Not much to report, everything has stopped due to a kitchen fire one Sunday morning. Kids were in bed safe and a way away from the kitchen, wife was walking the dogs I found it at 8.15am **** myself but managed to get it under control. The microwave had gone up in smoke and set fire to the kitchen worktop, wall cupboards etc. The smoke was acrid, black and choking me. I got doors windows open everything I could, my wife came home just as I threw the microwave out. Turns out she had put something in the microwave but instead of setting it for 9mins it went on for 35mins causing the contents to burn and burst into flames.

Long and short I got the kids (20 & 24 but still my kids) up, they were 100& safe I assure you. They along with My wife and dogs were outside while I checked the damage. Fire extinguishers are a must even when your knocking the place down. I had smoke inhilation probs for a few days but in lockdown you can't go to hospital, more urgent cases than me needed that.

TO top that we then had a power cut for 8hrs

So, work has stopped, cant get any kit from merchants, no timber, no sand no plasterboard.

Stay safe

Glad everyone ok. Things can be replaced. Family can't. Scaff Trade point still delivering and have click and collect too. Not bulk bags but you can order 25kg ones. Also i know what you saying but toxic plastic particles in the smoke dangerous. Call 111 to be on the safe side and see what they say.
