We can get most things, bread, milk, lots of meat, veg, but find eggs and flour non existent.
apparently the market is a wash with vast quantities of fillet, t-bone and rump steaks. These being the big buy from restaurants etc, story goes we don't regularly buy these cuts for home.? result is huge amounts just going to waste.:(

Some things were reduced just like before, my wife used to get loads of meat which had been reduced as it was near sell by date, just bunged it in the freezer.I thought we would have seen an end to that with panic buying, but no, still stuff going to waste.

Just been shopping for an isolating elderly relative over here. Now that's a weird experience!
Quite happy to eat our cooked from scratch meals when visiting, but didn't realise just how much junk/ready made meals that normally gets delivered!
Been perusing shelves that I've never looked at before.
Did manage to find the ready made pancakes though, but had warned that the 'substitute' might be eggs, milk and flour!

Flour? You'll be lucky, I don't get the obsession with flour, I can't believe more than about 10% of the population even know how to make bread and bread's pretty much never been unavailable during this mash up. Or are they just stock piling it in some kind of instinctive homage to their ancient past I wonder? Or maybe baking cakes?

Yes, yeast too. Suddenly we've become a nation of bakers. Sigh.

I've got flour, already had it in but no eggs for love or money. I don't get panic buying eggs either. Wanted to make a b'day cake but no can do.

We make our own pizza a fair bit, and bake frequently. And once we sussed the way to get yorkshires just right they beat aunt bessies hands down.

But you're right, I couldn't be bothered with making bread!

Had a Tesco delivery yesterday to my doorstep and on the list I had ordered a pack of Fusion5 razor blades at £15. They did not have any in stock so substituted Fusion5 Power blades at £21. I refused the substitution so the driver immediately refunded the original cost of £15. But when I went to hand back the pack of Fusion5 Power blades, he took a step backwards and saying that he was not permitted to accept any returns.
So I now have a set of £21 fancy blades as a freebie. Just luck that they fit my existing razor.
Crazy !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure but don't most people who cook have half a bag of flour or whatever for bits and bobs in the cupboard, I know we do, it's a staple for the things you mention for sure but I just don't get the current obsession.

What a coincidence!
Had a friend that got a couple of bags delivered a couple of days ago that wasn't part of his order but some of his was also missing.
An hour later his missing items were delivered but the same thing happened about not accepting any returns.
Funny thing is that he is veggie and most of the wrong items were meat based!
But the 'freebies' went to good homes!

Most of the smaller shops around here including tescos express, sainsburys local etc seem to be almost back to normal.
Sure they have limits and there is a small queue to get in, but the big supermarkets appear to have massive queues!
Hopefully after the panic buying frenzy we will get back to the point where it becomes obvious that it's need not greed!
(must admit to buying a few more choc bars than usual - for mental well being of course!)

We have not really noticed much of a difference here. Normally keep a good bit of stock in, we have a massive pantry, but we were due for more toilet rolls when the silly panic buying was first announced. The first place I went in had only one pack left on the shelf, of 18 rolls so I grabbed it. SWMBO decided it would be good to get her baking skills up to scratch again, so she used up the little flour we had in stock. None in the supermarkets, but word went round the street [1] that a local, very expensive French bakery, of national fame, had some for sale, so she took a stroll round there, 100 yards away and collected a kg and several more kg's for others.

We only found queues at Tesco, so we went to Lidl next door, which were well stocked with no queues. Shortages, what shortages?

[1] Someone on our street went round a few doors local to them with a note with their contact details should help be needed. Two days later another neighbour put a note plus red, yellow and green coloured cards through every door (to put in front windows if help were needed). That note suggested joining a self help group for the entire street, via WhatsApp. Many have joined and it has become quite busy with people introducing themselves and some asking for foodstuffs they have not been able to get hold of. SWMBO has turned into a bit of an agony aunt. That's costing me quite a bit, because SWMBO is very kindly buying them stuff, but using my card and refusing to take money from people :(
