Ordered Disney+ then found out that our 2015 Samsung TV is too old. We get Disney + on phones and ipad but have just been told that there is a device available which would allow us to see Disney + on our 'old' TV. Any ideas?

Was looking at these but I believe some services have an encryption that stops it from working that’s why I was asking

IIRC, some stuff can't be cast. Ruling out firestick and chrome cast.
Like, my bil gave me one of his sky sports log ins, but I couldn't cast it to my telly (not permitted).

The thing I linked to allows you to mirror an apple device screen to your TV, getting around the "you can't cast" issue.

Fire stick is what you need providing you have decent Wi-Fi in the room and a spare hdmi input on the tv. Only £20 on amazon at the minute https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Fire-TV-Stick-Streaming-Media-Player-Alexa/dp/B0791RGQW3. £10 more if you want the faster 4K version.

It will work on your tv and it does support Disney +
Yep. I can confirm that the Firestick will work. That's how I'm watching Disney+ right now.

For the small difference in price at the moment, the 4K Firestick is the one to go for. With a 1080p HD TV it will work just like the cheaper standard Firestick i.e. run in 1080p mode and only select content compatible with the TV. Once the TV is upgraded to a 4K screen (if it isn't already), the FS will then allow selection of the 4K versions of programmes.

I haven't come across any programme material yet from official streaming sources that isn't also available in a 1080p-version where a 4K UHD version is available, so having the 4K FS and a 1080p TV has no disadvantages.

If this or any other reply was helpful to you, then please do the decent thing and click the T-H-A-N-K-S button (not the Like button, the Thanks button. The difference is important). It appears when you hover the mouse pointer near the Quote Multi-quote buttons. It costs you nothing. This is the proper way to show your thanks for the time and help someone gave you.

Sorry for the delay guys but just lost my brother to covid-19. Got firestick but it will lie in the cupboard for the time being. Thanks to all who replied.
