Do as I say, not as I do.

And furthermore, boycott China!
Now I mentioned that this morning and my post was deleted. All I said was that when this is all over, if it ever is, I will be buying British first and Chinese last wherever possible. Let’s see if it gets deleted again. :cautious:

Long love Trump!

LOL! I meant to say "Long LIVE Trump" of course. I've not even started on the beer yet.

But I do love Trump. He is the best US President of our lifetimes, surpassing the great Ronald Reagan. The things he comes out with are comical and he knows it. There are some comedians who impersonate him on the BBC's extreme-left so-called comedy programmes, but they pale in comparison to the man himself, who is a comedy supremo.

No one is financially suicidal enough to do that and they know it.

No-one is financially suicidal? Haven't you noticed what's going on at the moment? We are destroying tax raising industry whilst promising unlimited payments to millions to sit idle. This can only empower China further.

No-one is financially suicidal?

There are plenty of people who admit that they are willing to cause economic damage to the country, unemployment and poverty, in pursuit of their political goals.

There's no consistency in what gets deleted and what is allowed to stand here. Many a time I have sat and composed a masterful opinion piece, taking long and thoughtful time over it, only to post it and see it vanish in the blink of an eye. It's criminal.

I implore you to avoid Chinese goods. I buy British as much as I can*; there are loads of good British products and produce available. Sometimes it is unavoidable to buy products that contain Chinese parts, but do try not to.

*Notwithstanding items I want that are specifically foreign, such as bananas, Italian wine, French cheese, original Rembrandt paintings etc.

A few years back I fitted a kitchen with the 'square edge' worktops. The trim is quite a hard plastic rather than the laminate material which can be trimmed with a Stanley and filed.
After struggling with this trim I decided to buy a 1/4" trimming router, reluctantly because it's not a tool I would use often, I might only fit 1 kitchen a year, although its great for hinge recesses and a few other things.
I looked at Makita as that tends to be my go to, and their router was about £120 - £130, then someone on another forum suggested a brand called Katsu, available on ebay, £30 quid,
It looks remarkably like a Makita. You can't buy spares for it, but if the motor packs up, or new brushes are required, you simply buy 'Makita parts'.
The story I heard (and I cant verify this) is that this company is Chinese and manufactured on behalf of Makita, when they lost the contract, they just carried on making them and sold through Amazon or Ebay.
Make no mistake, it's a great tool and a quarter of Makitas price, but shows how China has little regard for patents or intellectual property rights. And yes, before anyone says it, I'm a hypocrite because I bought one to save money.
