Hi All,
the motorised valve has failed (stuck open), valve ok, motor seized.
I see places like screwfix sell "replacement heads" rated as universal.
Question.
Do I have to buy a new Horstmann head (can get for late next week) or are the heads interchangeable?

Sorry for stupid question... if you don't ask, you never know.

Keep safe and thank you in advance

I haven’t seen them advertised as universal. Personally I’d go for a direct replacement, then you know it’ll work and fit.

I'd go for like for like as well but this suggests what is compatible

They are:

MoMo's (Motorised on, Motorised off) valve. Not seen one of them for years!

The Z222 is a spring return....

....don't know if that makes a difference.

Hi All,
Thank you for your help.
I decided to dismantle the head (have nothing else to do today) the main valve is fine, very loose.
I stripped the head down, motor seems fine, i cleaned the "teeth" on both the motor cog and the actuator as they were gunged up with fluff, maybe dried grease etc.
at the moment it seems to be working fine.
I will wait until the system gets up to temperature and see what happens.
Will report back but thank you so far for your help
Peter
