According to the instructions it looks like three screws to connect the 6mm cable and requires it's own circuit protected by a 30 a fuse or 32a mcb

If you make a u shape with the 6mm cable and fit it under the second, fourth, and sixth screws it should fit (according to the instructions anyway )
I know exactly which terminals to use. The instructions are quite clear.
From a simple inspection of the terminal strip, it's pretty clear there is not room under the screw heads to fit the existing 6mm cables without spilling out the sides. The wires are just too thick.
It looks as if a spade terminal should be fitted to each wire end so that it can be screwed down for a secure fit. If anyone has an alternative suggestion I'm open to advice.

I'm not sure what you mean by "by spilling out the sides" given the high sides of the screw terminals there should be no "spilling out" as long as the strands are twisted together.
You can use yellow spade connectors they are designed to take 4 to 6mm cable however it is unclear if they would fit from your pic

The wire goes under the left side of the screw only, and is prevented from being pulled in further by the tab to the top left of the screw.

It looks like that is using solid 6mm wires (6242B). But in this case the cable tail from the wall switch is stranded (6242Y).
When I loosened a screw on this new cooker there didn't seem room under the screw head to fit all seven strands. The raised edge doesn't look high enough to stop individual strands being squeezed out.
I suppose one solution would be to replace the tail with solid core cable. I would rather not use spades if possible.
The old cooker will be coming out tomorrow, and the new one going in. I can offer up the cable then and decide what to do.

Stranded will fit. All 6242 6mm² cable is stranded.

You're right of course, flameport. From just looking at the cooker I didn't think there was going to be room under the screws, but when I got it into place and offered up the wires they did go in. I did have to twist the strands tightly first.
