I am cocooned in a room with the only method of washing hands my Triton Handwasher. It has started acting up. Occasionally when I start it up it heats the water, but now it rarely heats the water - rarely switches on. I removed the unit and re-installed everything and it worked for about 24 hours and then problem recurred, cold water Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong. The flow of water is the same as it always was. The unit is old (was installed in 1993). But I need it working.

are you in a hard-water area?

I find the best cure for these is the bin.

Cant at the moment because I am confined to my room with the virus? If I put my nose outside the door I'll have it cut off. Just me and the Triton handwash

If it's 27years old and it's now acting up then it's had it's day. You won't get spares & it needs to be replaced.

I agree fully. Twenty-Seven years-old means it would be a miracle if it could be got to work again. But deep down in my soul a little voice is telling me: you are 76 years of age and you have the covid virus. Will they write me off?
The truth is I am 76, I tested positive for the virus but I am doing very well, and will be clear in three more days, when i can go about getting a new Triton handwash, one that will see me out. Thanks for your common sense on this issue.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, good to hear (y)

Yeah, sometime it just has to be a ... 'put it in the bin and get a new one' situation.
