Second bellbox on Prem elite live 64w

Installed a 64W panel last year. Used a combination of wired zones and some wireless. Am pretty impressed with it so far and have no issues although i wasnt a fan of the richochet learn part.

The Sounder is wireless. I am wanting to add a second sounder to the rear of the property likely also wireless. Is it just a case of adding it like all the other devices i did and it will then work in tandem with the other bellbox, i.e both will go off ect.

I have considered making this one hard wired as the cable route is easier, is this possible if so considering the first bellbox is wireless?

If you have a spare wireless zone on the built in expander you can add a Texecom wireless bell as specified in the manual and re do the mesh.

if no spare wireless zones you will need a wireless expander to add to the system.

A hard wired bell can be added to the system at any time, indeed you can have many hardwired bells as long as you don't exceed the panels power capabilities.

Thanks secure, i am going to go wireless as i have plenty of spare zones available, cant wait to have another go at doing the mesh again........it seemed way more complicated than programming a wired panel last time i did it.

As a side note, how often should i be replacing the batteries in the PIR's, contacts and Bellbox's on the Texecom kit?

if you do all batteries for wireless devices every 2 years, then its unlikely in a domestic you should ever have any problems, however they could last longer than this or less than this depending on hopping and triggering.

However, lock down posses a different useage situation, I would go hard wired first always and wireless if you cant go hard wired.

Much much prefer wired myself and did this wired where possible but with it being one of these modern chipboard houses, some of the runs were not worth the pain.

This was my first Texecom wireless and tbh, ive been impressed with its performance thus far. Will play safe and change batteries annually especially as the missus has been on maternity and not left the house.

should be fine every 2 years, or wait till first failure low battery warning.
