Indesit Washer won't start washing, stays in wash cycle for whole timer

We have an Indesit washer/dryer IWDE71255 probably about 8 years old that has started not doing anything on the wash cycle. Water comes in to the detergent draw but then the wash doesn't start and the machine keeps the icon that says its in the wash cycle forever. When it reaches the end of the timer it just stays on wash at 0:01 and never advances to spin or drain. Never washes.

Is this fixable maybe or is the machine possibly dead?

I would check the motor brushes for starters.

thanks for the response.

we let it run through the timer again and it gave a F02 code indicating "Motor jammed or tachogenerator detached".

Do you or anyone have an idea of if this is fixable and where to start looking?

Can you turn the inner drum by hand? If it is free to turn then as Assurs says check the main motor brushes first. Tacho is part of main motor https://www.indesitspares.co.uk/was....pl?pid=1950211&path=601906&model_ref=8619680

You will get F02 if the brushes have worn away as well as the other less likely faults.
