Boris was a remainer and remainers were shocked when they thought lets see if he will help. Why did he switch? I could make a pretty accurate guess about that and to suite Cameron he must have been a closet leaver.

Contemplating a political career, in 1993 Johnson outlined his desire to stand as a Conservative candidate to be a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in the 1994 European Parliament elections. Andrew Mitchell convinced Major not to veto Johnson's candidacy, but Johnson could not find a constituency.[108] He subsequently turned his attention to obtaining a seat in the UK House of Commons. After being rejected as Conservative candidate for Holborn and St. Pancras, he was selected as the party's candidate for Clwyd South in north Wales, at that time a Labour Party safe seat. Spending six weeks campaigning, he attained 9,091 votes (23%) in the 1997 general election, losing to the Labour candidate.[109]

Johnson secured employment on the leader-writing desk of The Daily Telegraph, having met its editor, Max Hastings, during his Oxford University Union presidency.[79] His articles appealed to the newspaper's conservative, middle-class, middle-aged "Middle England" readership,[80] and were known for their distinctive literary style, replete with old-fashioned words and phrases and for regularly referring to the readership as "my friends".[81] In early 1989, Johnson was appointed to the newspaper's Brussels bureau to report on the European Commission,[82] remaining in the post until 1994.[83] A strong critic of the integrationist Commission President Jacques Delors, he established himself as one of the city's few Eurosceptic journalists.[84] Many of his fellow journalists there were critical of his articles, opining that they often contained lies designed to discredit the Commission.[85] The Europhile Tory politician Chris Patten later stated that, at that time, Johnson was "one of the greatest exponents of fake journalism".

Scandal erupted in June 1995 when a recording of a 1990 telephone conversation between Johnson and his friend Darius Guppy was made public.[110] In the conversation, Guppy said that his criminal activities involving insurance fraud were being investigated by News of the World journalist Stuart Collier, and he asked Johnson to provide him with Collier's private address, seeking to have the latter beaten to the extent of "a couple of black eyes and a cracked rib or something like that". Johnson agreed to supply the information, although he expressed concern that he would be associated with the attack.

Johnson's appearance on an April 1998 episode of the BBC's satirical current affairs show Have I Got News for You brought him national fame for his bumbling upper-class persona, viewed as highly entertaining by the show's large audience. He was invited back on to later episodes, including as a guest presenter; for his 2003 appearance, Johnson received a nomination for the BAFTA Television Award for Best Entertainment Performance.[114][115] After these appearances, he came to be recognised on the street by the public, and was invited to appear on other television shows, such as Top Gear
, Parkinson, Breakfast with Frost, and the more highbrow political show Question Time.[116]

Keir Starmers shadow cabinet is largely made up of remainers, that reduces his pool of talent to only hard core remainers, which makes finding competent people harder.

You just broke the internet with that. DP has been bested.

A large number of teachers have not ceased to work, since the lockdown. Perhaps you meant something else?
We're still working in France, and being paid. We're working via the internet, and it takes much longer to prepare and deliver lessons this way. I suspect my work load has doubled or tripled instead of teaching face to face. Additionally, it's much harder to gain some feedback on how the students are doing.

This is a more typical labour man

Done without Eaton etc cramming, Came from a comprehensive.
In 1989, Miliband gained four A Levels—in Mathematics (A), English (A), Further Mathematics (B) and Physics (B)—and then read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. In his first year, he was elected JCR President, leading a student campaign against a rise in rent charges. In his second year he dropped philosophy, and was awarded an upper second class Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to graduate from the London School of Economics with a Master of Science in Economics.[12]

On 25 July 2002, it was announced that Miliband would take a 12-month unpaid sabbatical from HM Treasury to be a visiting scholar at the Center for European Studies of Harvard University for two semesters.[18] He spent his time at Harvard teaching economics,[19] and stayed there after September 2003 for an additional semester teaching a course titled "What's Left? The Politics of Social Justice".[20] During this time, he was granted "access" to Senator John Kerry and reported to Brown on the presidential hopeful's progress.[21] After Miliband returned to the UK in January 2004 Gordon Brown appointed him Chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers as a replacement for Ed Balls, with specific responsibility for directing the UK's long-term economic planning.[22]

Another one
Keir Rodney Starmer was born in Southwark, London, on 2 September 1962[5][6] and grew up in the small town of Oxted in Surrey.[7][8][9] He was born second of the four children of Josephine (née Baker), a nurse, and Rodney Starmer, a toolmaker.[9][10][11] His mother had Still's disease.[12][13] His parents were Labour Party supporters, and named him after the party's first parliamentary leader, Keir Hardie.[14] He passed the 11-plus examination and gained entry to Reigate Grammar School,[14] then a voluntary aided state school, although it converted to an independent fee-paying grammar school in 1976 while he was there.[15] In his teenage years Starmer was active in Labour politics, and was a member of the East Surrey Young Socialists.[10][9] He was a junior exhibitioner at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama until the age of 18, and played the flute, piano, recorder and violin.[16] He studied law at the University of Leeds, graduating with a first class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 1985.[17][18] He undertook postgraduate studies at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, graduating from the University of Oxford as a Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) in 1986.[19][17]

My son failed that sort of 11+ that would have meant no fees at another school that went private so went to what was now a comprehensive.

Wow, he sounds fantastic, why isn't this man Prime Minister?

Factcheck:

In the local (primary) schools that swmbo has direct experience of, 'tis true.
One day a fortnight.
Full pay.

This is, however, clearly different to (hopelessly, imho) attempting to teach greater numbers of kids while maintaining a safe environment, from June 1st.

SWMBO showed me this picture this morning.

I cried.

Like I am now, typing this post.

Roll on the next GE eh? I bet you can’t wait to see Starmer sweep into power with a massive majority and get this country back on track.
Good God no. Sir Kier is doing an absolutely brilliant job dissecting and embarrassing the shambolic Tory government and their leader, from the opposition benches.
Its an absolute boon watching daft-as-a-brush Bozza getting dissected every PMQ. I'm enjoying politics again.(y)
