It is a waterless trap. ( Doesnt rely on water to prevent drain smells entering the room ,like a conventional trap does)

It's a wirquin low level waterless trap, usually supplied/required for when there's a basin on vanity unit that has a top drawer.
They do work yes but I find they can get clogged up after a while and need cleaned, - depends on how they are used/what goes down the drain.
