2019 48% of UK exports went to EU
2019 7% of EU exports went to UK

you do the math
2019 52% of UK exports went not to EU.
2019 93% of EU exports did not go to UK....
SORTED.AND?

The figures in pounds and pence are: UK exports to EU £291bn, EU exports to UK: £357bn. I would imagine that to take 2 examples, that Germany would still like the UK to continue to buy 14% of their car production, and Spain would like to continue to truck their salads to us. Both sides have to be realistic

the EU is being realistic -it simply wants to negotiate what was agreed in the WA.

the UK is not negotiating, it isnt in the interests of the Tory cabinet -because most of them, if not all, have connections to US business interests via lobby groups and so called think tanks.
there is a good reason Matthew Elliott is the top Tory advisor -he has powerful links with the Koch foundation and Trump.

On the topic of discussion, I'm quite interested in seeing our negotiating position, apparently we're going to make it public which I think is a great idea. Unexpected given everything we've done so far with respect to EU negotiation, but a welcome change to openness.

LOL I thought it was the Sir David Frost - help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

If you read further down you will notice a suggestion that the solution it outside the negotiators pay grades. People tend to get so wrapped up with EU this and that and forget countries have leaders. All of our PM's have tried to change certain things about the EU going right back to Wilson who started what Mrs T finished. Sometimes they get a change sometimes they don't.

There is a view about that business in general wont accept the UK getting a bad deal. This view could be correct and countries leaders could be the ones that sort it out.

:) On the other hand who knows. I think the idea could be flawed as it leaves us the problem of getting some things from elsewhere if they just say s#d off.

Latest news - pushing the immigration bill though by the sound of it. Carers not included and needing £600 odd* every year to renew visas. Some NHS as well.

*No idea where that comes from but mentioned. Only info I can find

I don't think they're doing it for our benefit, but to ensure all EU leaders are aware of our position given they've had more pressing matters on their minds.

Yes and currently wait some time to get a result Boris mentioned getting them back in 24hrs eventually. And I think he said can request a test. Probably very politically correct at the moment.

Hancock was rather flustered when Van Tam said that they had stated that the test turn around time must be as quick as possible.
