Hi All!

So does anyone have experience of using the Flex for home automation? I'd like to have a couple of lighting circuits activated by the alarm's PIRs. I understand I need a trigger board but before I jump in I'd like some idea of peoples experience with it and if it's worth doing?

Cheers in advance!

There's a poster on here who's called galaxyguy who is the expert on galaxy systems , he should be able to help you

The trigger will give low current outputs for driving relays from forwarded inputs etc. Although the panel has thus capability, it's not that advanced and really needs a proper automation controller to take care of the heavy lifting. I'm currently working on a virtual RIO to link the galaxy to different home automation controllers. I posted some info on another forum, so will post here for info shortly. This is something I want to do for my own home installation too, as although I have external lighting, sensors, heating connected, there's little in the way of sequence based control.

The trigger module gave me an issue with a customer recently, where noise coming down one of the installation cables was switching the trigger outputs all on. When the customer switched the lights on, all sounders would sound independently of the panel output status.

Yeah... for what I want I was kinda thinking it could be more trouble than it's worth... a simple separate pir can do what I need or possibly some more hive kit.

I'm still scratching my head over the push notifications though mate... no idea why they have stopped? I've checked all the triggers etc

Just a thought on this. Do you have the account number programmed in menu 56.1.2.1.1 ? It needs to be there as well as in the receiver. I think a bug has perhaps been silently fixed where the ARC receiver would just push both the receiver and ARC account numbers through in the event report.

Yes mate, have my account number in there. Short of resetting the whole thing I donr know what to do!

I think I'll need to log in and have a look at the settings for you.
