Is this easily repairable?

It looks like I can shove a flat lintel in there if necessary and then cement the bricks. Never done something like that before but since it's just a garage I'd like to give it a go and gain a wee bit of experience. I think I might have to support that joist as well as that seems to be the cause of it.

I'm planning on replacing the door and frame soon after.

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

Actually, I don't know if this is feasible but could I put the concrete lintel where the door frame is instead?

I'd only have to remove a brick on each side and then patch up the above.

As stated already, I'm planning to replace the door and frame anyway.

Do whatever works for the desired door frame height. Most of that brickwork will probably fall away anyway so you’ll have to relay it

A tray lintel may be better and won't be visible on the outside.

Your looking at a rebuild of all those bricks above, so may as well put the lintel above the frame and keep that at the same height instead of messing about reducing the frame and door and ducking for the rest of your life.

Prop that joist with some 4x2 as it's only light, and be careful not to disturb that asbestos roof sheet.

Thanks, I was wondering if I should get a second-hand acrow, 4x2 much better hasslewise!

Is there another name for a tray lintel? When I Google it, I just get cavity ones. Is it just a L-shaped lintel or a flat one?

IG L11 or Catnic ANG - both "L" shape.

And protect that end grain from further rot in the joist and consider some sort of verge detail to protect the brickwork too.
