Hi all,

When pulling one of our kitchen windows closed, the bottom corner metal fixtures rub as shown in this photo:

It's not severe - if I lift the window from the outside just a tiny bit, it clears it.

It shuts perfectly otherwise. The windows were fitted in 2005, and every other one in the house is absolutely spot on. I can only assume this one has just been left open a lot more than all the others so it's sagged a little bit.

Is there anything I can adjust, or should i just live with it?

Thanks.

It might be the hinges need to be tightened. Just have a check around the hardware as well. Bit of wd on the hinges and lock helps to keep them free and working.

Living by the sea, we have been adviced to use 3-in-one with PTFE to keep all the moving parts lubricated , three times a year

Actually graphite lube is better because its a dry lubricant so you won't get any crap sticking to it

Thanks guys, but I don't think lubing the hinges is going to lift up the slightly dropped window :)

No it won't i was just commenting on which is the best lube to use. Your window or double glazed unit within your window needs re-packing called toe and heeling, there is no other adjustment that can be made with the hinges, as a temp measure though cup your handes under the opener and heave it up, it'll probably creak but thats just the rubbers against the glass
