Advice on roofing

Good evening all

I have moved into a new build and I ended up in the attic space looking for the aerial lead.

Looking at one side of the attic roof all was dark (as I would normally expect) but looking on the opposite side I was surprised to see the top third also dark, but the two-thirds below it was able to see light through..... not straight daylight but light as if looking at the sunshine through a sheet of paper.

I'm not an expert but to me this doesn't seem right, as if a membrane or something is missing. I'm hoping that somebody here with more knowledge can advise if this is normal or, if not, what is likely to be the issue.

Different type of felt.
top looks like type 1f non breathable tar felt.

No, no solar panels. From the outside the area that light can be seen looks the same as that above that can't.

Wouldn't you use the same over the whole roof?

Looks like tiles missing.
The battens are showing through but light showing in between..
Looks like half the roof .
Get some pictures from outside.
Possibly a few unfitted ones left up there too

As far as I can tell all appears as it should be, certainly to me no tiles missing.

When was the picture taken?
The outside picture shows approx 10 courses at the bottom of the roof a slightly different shade.
Internal shows approx 10 battens showing.
Perfectly possibly to fill in the bottom after the top.
With tiles on virtually no light would show

Once I noted the (what I perceived) issue I went outside and launched the drone within an hour, so to all intents they were taken at the same time.

It's probably as Alistair says a different felt but it does look like too much light!

Different felt, slight camber in the tiles and the sun seems to be direct and low enough to be shining through the gaps.

Other than that, a portal to another realm.

If you look at the shadows being cast, the sun was very high, so I'll go with the portal theory
