So, seemingly completely coincidentally one of our taps just blew at the flex cable. And we have a very wet house.
I returned the jumper in a panic before finding the cause... It might be a while til I get round to removing it again!

The jumper has absolutely nothing to do with your taps, it is simply a signal link, your boiler thinks you want the heating on, the HW is completely seperate
Oh I know. There's no link whatsoever. Just bad timing!
Then take the link out before you damage the boiler.
You’re misreading. See edited photo, it states if using 230v controls, then remove link at x100, which evidently is the 24v link
Also please ensure that since you have removed the case, which forms part of the room seal, that it isn’t checked in accordance with gas safety installation and use regulations 1998, after performing work on a gas appliance.Did you post an edited photo?You’re misreading. I thought I had, but it appears not. Try this one, although it’s not very clear by vaillant, it refers to that link.
