Hi all.

I've just replaced some joists which required me to cut a cable for the light circuit. (I did it safely...)

Now I need to rejoin the cable, but there are 2 browns and a 'naked' wire (assuming earth). So, how do I know which brown goes to which and are the SpliceLine connnectors I have enough. IIRC they are compliant and 32amp rated, I just need to ensure they're enclosed in a box.

Any chance someone out there could let me know how I sort this? I've isolated the circuit and tested to ensure there's no live and have the connectors on one side of the wire.

Hope you can help.

Thanks.

Presumably this cable goes to a switch, if so it matters not which brown is which.

One side of the cable may have writing stamped on it, so you may be able to 'match up' the wires.

Chances are it won't make any difference, but best to have it how it was just in case.

Thanks for the help fellas.

I did just as Sparkwright suggested. Cable had stamped writing, just matched it up.

All appears to working, so thanks again for your help.
